Wayne Bledsoe


Wayne is the producer and host of Bluegrass for a Saturday Night and Sunday Morning Sounds.

A  Professor Emeritus at Missouri S&T, Wayne taught Ancient and Medieval History at the University for 32 years and served as Chair of the Department of History and Political Science.  Wayne received his Ph.D. from Michigan State University.

Wayne has been affiliated with Public Radio KMST since its inception, serving as a regular contributor to the Program Guide prior to replacing Mike Morgan as Host of Bluegrass for a Saturday Night in 1978.  In 2010, Wayne took over as KMST's General Manager upon the retirement of Jim Sigler, and managed the station until his own (second) retirement at the end of 2014.

Wayne is a founding member of the International Bluegrass Music Association and served on its governing board for six years.  He and his wife Deb founded and published the international bluegrass magazine, Bluegrass Now, for 20 years.
